Automatically generate an index for your project

Written by Malte Nielsen

The Index Widget allows you to easily create a table of contents for your existing magazine pages. Add the Index Widget anywhere on your page and style it according to your preferences.

The Index Widget automatically displays all pages of your digital magazine that have been published. It can be inserted directly at the page level or used in a container and column layout.

Customize your index:

  • Index Type: Index type: Grid or list – determine whether the pages listed in the index should be displayed side by side in a grid or as a list from top to bottom.

  • Spacing: Set the spacing between images, between images and text, and between images and the page margin.

  • Style title and decription: Use your own colors and font styles for your texts.

  • Show and hide individual elements: Decide whether page numbers, subpages, and page descriptions should be displayed.

  • Background: Design the background of your index widget with a color or image theme.

Tipp:

The system automatically uses the page name or meta title for the index title, if one has been stored. The index title can be customized via the metadata for the respective page. The settings for the metadata can be found at the top page level. All metadata functions can be opened via the small arrow menu. If you would like to add a description text to your index, you can do so via the Meta Description field.
